Summer Field Assistants-University of Notre Dame

Position Description: Field assistants needed for several projects from early June to early August.
Flexible start and end dates possible between early June and early August. The primary project is a
lake survey project, based out of the University of Notre Dame, but sampling will take place off-
site. Field sites could include locations in southern Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Accommodation at
field sites provided and may include some camping.

Qualifications: Applicants should enjoy working outdoors and with others in a group setting. Field
assistants will spend most of their time outdoors at field sites so candidates should be generally
physically fit and have strong swimming skills. CPR/First aid certification before start date is
required. Boating and/or snorkeling experience required. Valid driver’s license required.
Experience identifying aquatic or terrestrial plants is preferable but not essential. Must pass basic
background check.

Pay rate: $10/hour
