The German Science Foundation has granted a new Collaborative Research Centre (SFB 1036) entitled “Cellular Surveillance and Damage Response” to Heidelberg University. SFB 1036 provides funding for 17 research groups of the Heidelberg Life Science Campus (Faculties of Biosciences and Medicine, German Cancer Research Center and European Molecular Biology Laboratory) with the objective to explore the molecular mechanisms driving and coordinating cellular quality control and damage response. Towards this aim we are employing a wide range of methods including biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, mass spectrometry and advanced computation, and use model systems including yeast, plants, mammalian cells and mice. The SFB1036 offers several PhD student and postdoc positions to outstanding students and scientists. Payment will be according to the German TV-LE13. Please find further information about the participating research groups of the SFB 1036 on the HBIGS website: http://www.hbigs.uni-heidelberg.de/ Please submit your application exclusively via the HBIGS online application system: http://www.hbigs.uni-heidelberg.de/main_application.html Application deadline: 15 August 2012 (Start of PhD projects: Immediately thereafter)
