Places are still available for an advanced short course on spatially explicit capture-recapture (SECR) modelling in Dunedin, New Zealand on 18-19 June. The course precedes the Queenstown conference on Statistics in Ecology and Environmental Monitoring.
Participants should have experience of capture–recapture methods and be confident users of R.
The main topics to be covered are
- an overview of the R package 'secr'
- study design
- modelling variation in detection parameters
- density trend analysis
