Australian Marine Sciences Association Conference Darwin 2-6th July 2017

The Australian Marine Sciences Association (AMSA) (https://www.amsa.asn.au/) 54th annual conference is being held in Darwin from 2-6 July 2017. The conference theme is ‘Connections through Shallow Seas’, which alludes to the connectivity that exists in marine science: linkages between different disciplines of marine science, connecting traditional knowledge and western science, and scientific collaborations between regions. These connections in marine science will be discussed in the five working themes, 18 symposia and workshops. These linkages will also be reflected in the presentations by the conference plenary speakers; Professor Helene Marsh, Dr Julie Hall and Dr Alistair Hobday. The topics covered by the conference invited speakers include: The National Marine Science Plan, a decade of IMOS, and the Western Australian Marine Science Institute (http://events.amsaconference.net/conference-program.html).

We openly invite people to submit abstracts for oral or PEP (short 5 min) presentations in Symposia 5: Ecological diversity and connectivity in the tropical eastern Indian Ocean” (Convenor: Zoe Richards, Curtin University; Oliver Berry CSIRO; Kathryn McMahon Edith Cowan University; Jim Underwood Australian Institute of Marine Science)

If you are interested in attending this is a general reminder that the abstracts close in 3 weeks on the 18thFeb.
