Postdoc Position (f/m) in Molecular Virology and Cell Biology

Full-Time (38,5 hours/week)
(Germany salary grade: E 13 TV-G-U, 100 %)
TV-L E13 Research Scientist

The positions are available from 01.08.2017 for 36 months with a potential extension.

Our research focuses on investigating host-pathogen interactions with a strong emphasis on cell biological mechanisms. The successful applicant will investigate the molecular mechanisms on how small DNA tumor viruses infect cells and how cellular aging affects infection. The position is financed by the European Research Council.


Required qualifications:
•PhD in Biology/Cell Biology/Virology or similar;
•strong background in cell biology or virology, and live cell imaging, superresolution microscopy, and/or molecular imaging;
•a previous experience in innate immunity or aging research is a plus, experience in working with proteins, cell culture (epithelial cell lines, organoids, computational image analysis strong commitment to research and strong motivation for interdisciplinary work.
