Técnicos de campo con aves marinas en Canadá para este verano

Field technician needed from early May (approximate start date May 8-10) to early/mid August for a long-term monitoring study of seabirds (primarily Atlantic Puffins, Razorbills, Arctic and Common Terns, Common Murres, and Leach's Storm Petrels) on Machias Seal Island, New Brunswick. Primary duties include bird capture (box trap, mist-net, treadle trap, hand), banding, taking morphometric measurements, band resighting, productivity monitoring, feeding observations, predator control, and data entry.

Applicants should be positive, hard-working, and enthusiastic, and able to reliably work independently as well as in a team. The ability to meticulously collect and enter data is absolutely essential. Previous field experience banding birds is preferred, particularly seabirds. Canadian citizenship or residency is preferred, but not required. Pay is $4000 CAD for the summer with transportation to the island, food, and lodging provided.
