Freshwater Biologist

The Isle of Man is a self-governing crown dependency with a population of 76,600. The Isle ofMan Government has a vacancy for a Freshwater Biologist with substantial experience in the use of invertebrates and chemical data for river quality assessment.
In this unique post, on the staff of the Government Laboratory, you will carry out all practical work and reporting necessary to extend and maintain a river classification and monitoring
scheme. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to future planning to maintain the unspoilt countryside and beaches, which help to make an exceptional quality of life.

The postholder will be employed as a civil servant with a non-contributory pension scheme and the personal income tax on the Island is low (currently the base rate is set at 10%). A relocation package is available for a candidate recruited outside the Isle of Man.
