Academic-Related Research Staff Grade Ia: Salary £19,460 - £29,128 P.A.: Applications are invited for a position as Research Fellow in Ornithology, as part of the Edward Grey Institute of Field Ornithology in the Department of Zoology (see: http://egizoosrv.zoo.ox.ac.uk/EGI/EGIHome.htm). The main duties of the postholder will be to conduct research into ornithology that complements the existing strengths and interests of the institute, and to develop an independently-funded research programme in ornithology. The successful applicant will have a strong research record in any area of ornithology with relevance to behaviour, conservation, ecology or evolution of wild populations. Candidates from other fields, but with a strong desire to work in ornithology, and with clearly transferable skills, may also apply. Candidates should possess a doctorate in ornithology or a related subject, but have no more than four years' postdoctoral experience by 30 September 2005. The position is available for two years with the possibility of extension for a further two years. The starting date is negotiable, but it is expected that the successful candidate will be in position from May 2005.
