Postdoc in molecular microbiology and functional genomics (Monaco)

Post-doctoral Fellowship Opportunity available at the Centre Scientifique de Monaco, to join the Ecophysiology team.
Starting date: September 2015

A position will be available in September 2015 for a postdoctoral fellow in molecular microbiology and functional genomics. The focus of the research will be on a recently awarded project assessing the microbial diversity associated with Mediterranean gorgonians, and the functional roles of these prokaryotes. Duties will require knowledge of the principles of molecular biology lab techniques (e.g. DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, sequencing) and genome analysis (454 and Illumina data, genome/transcriptome assembly and annotation, functional genomics). The project is collaborative with Dr. Chris Voolstra at the KAUST and Prof. Howard Junca of the University of Nueva Granada.

This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.

Net salary: 2700 euros.
