Predoctoral Contract in Molecular Virology - Pandemic Preparedness Lab

Contract Type: Predoctoral contract "Ayudas a la Formación de jóvenes Investigadores CEU" (4 years, 2025-2026 call)
Main Description: RNA viruses are the causative agents of all pandemics in the 21st century. Preventing these pandemics is one of the greatest challenges for human health. The high mutagenic capacity of these viruses makes them evolve rapidly and complicates the generation of cross-neutralizing drugs effective for all viral strains. The laboratory studies RNA viruses, such as Influenza viruses and Coronaviruses, at the molecular level with particular attention to internal proteins that are highly conserved and provide an ideal target for diagnosis methods and the generation of broad-spectrum therapies.
