Faculty Position en sistemática de arañas (Araneae) - Instituto de Biología, UNAM, Ciudad de México - Tenure-track - Deadline 27 abril 2026

Location: Mexico City, México

Contract Type: Full-time tenure-track faculty position (Investigador/a Asociado/a C)

Main Description: The position focuses on systematic biology of spiders (Araneae), including species discovery, classification, and phylogenetic relationships using genomic data and comparative phylogenetic tools. The successful candidate will have access to national biological collections and will be expected to conduct fieldwork, teach, and supervise students.

Requirements:
  • PhD in zoology, arachnology, systematics, or evolution
  • Postdoctoral experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years research experience in phylogenetic systematics and evolution of Araneae
  • Experience with biological collections
  • Field work experience
  • Teaching and supervision skills
  • Spanish fluency (for non-native speakers)
  • Age limit: women ≤39 years, men ≤37 years
