About the Role
Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) is looking for a highly motivated communications expert in a full-time role of Conservation Communicator. This role will largely entail developing quality written content for different mediums including publications, social media, and website. This position will require engaging closely with WCT’s project teams and making frequent field visits to project sites. WCT’s Communications team is driven by the larger conservation goal of creating awareness, disseminating knowledge, and popularising science that includes but is not limited to WCT’s scientific research.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting scientifically robust and easy-to-understand content – long/medium/shortform – for website, internal and external publications, and social media.
- Liaising with field teams for information and regular updates. This will include field visits to WCT’s project sites.
- Assisting the Head of Communications in planning and developing communication strategies and outputs.
- Working with the team’s Social Media expert to develop effective communication strategies.
- Contributing towards management of internal and external communications.
- Assisting with proofreading/editing project reports, proposals, press releases, etc.
- Working with the team to organise online campaigns and events.
Qualification, Experience & Other Preferred Criteria
- At least 1-2 years of English writing and editing work experience in the science communication and/or conservation sphere.
- Strong science comprehension skills.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable with travelling and interacting with the field teams.
- Basic photography and videography skills or open to developing the said skillset.
