Main Description:
OIKOS Genomics is seeking a Staff Scientist in Molecular Ecology to lead R&D projects in metabarcoding and eDNA for biodiversity assessment. The role emphasizes development of molecular tools and laboratory pipelines that support conservation programs across diverse habitats. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on conservation efforts while collaborating with a global network of academic researchers.
Requirements:
- PhD in Molecular Ecology or related field with 2-4 years of postdoctoral experience
- Demonstrated experience in DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, and/or eDNA applications
- Experience with short-read sequencing technologies and Oxford Nanopore
- Understanding of how molecular data informs conservation practice
- Excellent teamwork, communication and project management skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
