Main Description:
The School of Life Sciences seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor in Marine Biology focused on investigating mechanisms of marine organism responses to environmental changes using integrative approaches. The ideal candidate has experience in physiological, ecological, and/or evolutionary marine biology, preferably working with Hawaiian species. Teaching responsibilities include core marine biology courses such as algal diversity, invertebrate biology, fish biology, marine microbiology, and marine ecology and evolution.

Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent terminal degree in relevant field
  • Research experience in marine biology or related field
  • Excellence in research demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications
  • Ability to teach core marine biology courses (algal diversity, invertebrate biology, fish biology, marine microbiology, marine ecology and evolution)
  • Commitment to personal and professional integrity
  • For Associate Professor rank: four years at Assistant Professor rank, documented participation in academic affairs, peer recognition at local/regional level
