Main Description:
The School of Life Sciences seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor in Marine Biology focused on investigating mechanisms of marine organism responses to environmental changes using integrative approaches. The ideal candidate has experience in physiological, ecological, and/or evolutionary marine biology, preferably working with Hawaiian species. Teaching responsibilities include core marine biology courses such as algal diversity, invertebrate biology, fish biology, marine microbiology, and marine ecology and evolution.

Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent terminal degree in relevant field
  • Research experience in marine biology or related field

Job Opening: Marine Biologist

Key Responsibilities

As a Marine Biologist, your role will involve:

  • Educational Programs: Conducting marine and island-life biology programs for guests and staff, enhancing awareness of the unique ecosystem of the Maldives.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Biology (preferably with a focus on marine biology, zoology, or ecology).

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a resort or hotel.

  • Strong snorkeling and scuba diving skills. PADI certification is a plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of marine ecosystems and conservation practices.

  • Experience in data collection, monitoring, and reporting on marine projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and material creation.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication abilities.

  • A genuine passion for marine conservation and the ability to inspire and educate guests.

  • Experience with EarthCheck and other sustainability initiatives is a plus.

 Job Title: Paid Summer 2025 Undergrad Research on Chesapeake Bay (REU)


Are you looking for a summer research internship studying ocean, coastal or environmental science? I invite you to check out the Maryland Sea Grant Summer REU program. We bring upper-level undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and majors to the Chesapeake Bay to conduct individual research projects with a scientist-mentor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. Our program runs for 12-weeks from May 18 to August 8, 2025.

Requisitos:

Título Patrón Portuario.

Carnet de conducir B, valorable B+E.

Informática nivel usuario avanzado.

Establecer residencia en la Región de Murcia.

Disponibilidad para desplazamientos.

Valorable experiencia en toma de muestras de aguas y sedimentos y/o planificación de campañas de toma mar.

Valorable título de buceador profesional de media profundidad.

Oportunidad de temporada para amantes de la biología marina: Facilitador de proyecto en conservación de tortugas

Do you have an interest in conserving our endangered green sea turtle population for generations to come? Are you looking for your next role in in Marine Conservation?

Bubbles Turtle Conservation is an established Turtle Conservation based in the Perhentian Islands - and we're on the hunt for our next Project Facilitator.

As the Project Facilitator, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Conservation Project and intern team. This includes onboarding new interns, upholding data collection and management (both in the field and in "office"), hatchery maintenance, working with guests, coordinating the BTC Experiential Program and facilitating guest workshops.

What we offer:

🐚 Based at Bubbles Dive Resort, Pulau Perhentian Besar, Malaysia
