Contract Type: Voluntary internship, minimum 12 weeks (June to October 2026)
Main Description: The Shannon Dolphin Project is offering volunteer internships focused on monitoring resident bottlenose dolphins in Ireland. The programme includes field work conducting surveys by sea and land, processing photo-identification data, and public education and outreach activities. Interns will gain hands-on experience in marine mammal research and conservation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in marine sciences (biology, ecology or oceanography)
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team
- Some positions require a valid Irish driving license and being 25 years or older
