Main Description:
PhD position studying evolutionary repeatability and genomic predictions of temperature adaptation in seed beetles (Callosobruchus maculatus). The project combines experimental and molecular laboratory work with bioinformatic analysis, leveraging data from large-scale Evolve-and-Resequence experiments to understand how species evolve adaptations to environmental changes.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Evolutionary Biology, Ecology, Bioinformatics or related field (or equivalent 240+ credits with 60+ at Master's level)
- Grasp of key concepts in ecology and/or evolutionary biology/genetics
- High-level English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Motivation, curiosity, collaborative skills, and ability to work independently
- Desirable: programming/scripting experience; statistical analyses in quantitative genetics or population genomics; bioinformatic pipelines experience; molecular lab work experience; experimental evolution or genetic strains experience
