Main Description:
This doctoral position investigates response diversity in boreal forest and tundra ecosystems. The candidate will focus on evaluating response diversity metrics to explain and predict the temporal stability of plant communities. The project is embedded within the ReDiLEEP Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network and is based at the Northern Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning research group at the University of Helsinki.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in ecology or a closely related field, completed before the start of the position
- Strong motivation to pursue doctoral research in community ecology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- MSCA mobility rule eligibility: must not have resided in Finland for more than 12 months in the previous 36 months
- Must not hold a doctoral degree
- Must be eligible to enroll in a doctoral programme at the University of Helsinki
