Main Description: Assistant Professor position in Evolutionary Adaptation in the Anthropocene, with a molecular focus (epigenetics, transcriptomics, functional genetics) on species adaptation to human-altered environments. Candidates studying the molecular effects of pollution and/or urbanization on terrestrial invertebrates are especially encouraged to apply. The role includes externally funded research and undergraduate and master's level teaching.

Requirements:

• PhD in evolutionary biology, molecular biology, ecotoxicology or a related field
• At least three years of postdoctoral experience
• Research track record and publications on evolutionary adaptation to anthropogenic environmental change
• Demonstrated ability to secure external funding
• Teaching experience at undergraduate and master's level
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Dutch is not required, but a passive level is expected within three years

Benefits/Conditions:

• Gross monthly salary between €4,925 and €6,682 (scale 11), full-time
• Initial 1-year contract with prospect of a permanent position
• 232 vacation hours per year on a 38-hour working week
• 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus
