Main Description: The Institute of Nature Conservation offers a 48-month doctoral position funded by the NCN OPUS grant to study the genomic mechanisms underlying invasion success in Hemiptera pest species (Cinara curvipes and Leptoglossus occidentalis). The successful candidate will work on de novo sequencing, genome assembly, annotation, and analysis of structural variation, transposable element content, and gene families related to invasion success.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, or evolutionary biology
- Strong interest in evolutionary and population genomics
- Experience or strong interest in bioinformatic analyses
- Good command of English
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Benefits/Conditions: Monthly gross scholarship of ~5000 PLN (~3790 PLN net) before mid-term evaluation and 6500 PLN gross (~4930 PLN net) after mid-term evaluation.
