Main Description
The Shark Bay Dolphin Research Project is seeking a Research Assistant for the 2026 field season. The position focuses on drone-based data collection and long-term population monitoring of Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins in Shark Bay, Western Australia. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in cetacean research and field biology.
Requirements
- Australian citizen currently residing in Australia
- Bachelor's degree completed before August 2026, or obtained within the last 3 years (from 2023 onwards)
- No completed Master's or PhD degree, and not currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme
- Fluent in English
- Good physical condition; ability to lift 20 kg
- Background in marine biology, animal behaviour, zoology, ecology, genetics, or a related field
