Training Fellow
The Center for Genomic Regulation offers a postgraduate training fellowship in the Gene Expression Program. Full time fellowships are not compatible with any other remuneration. Receiving a CRG Predoctoral Fellowship does not establish labour liability with the trainee. By accepting the fellowship, the trainee agrees to follow its rules and regulations.

2. Length and renewal

The fellowship is for one year renewable up to a maximum of four years.


3. Specific aim and stipend

The fellowship is offered to work on the project entitled: “Translational control of the cell cycle inhibitor p27kip1”, supervised by Dr. Fátima Gebauer.

The group of Fátima Gebauer is interested in the regulation of mRNA translation in eukaryotic cells. In particular, interest in the group focuses on two effectors of translational control: RNA-binding proteins and the mRNA poly(A) tail. Emphasis is given to translational control events that are essential for early embryonic development and viability in the fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster, and for proper cell cycle progression in mammals. Amount: 12.000.- € gross for one year.

4. Candidate requirements

Candidates should hold a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.
