PhD Studentships in Chemical Biology

School of Chemistry
PhD studentships are available for a start between August and October 2004 to work with Professor Rudolf K Allemann in the following areas:
De Novo Design of peptide Catalysts;
Unnatural Natural products: The Molecular Basis of the Specificity in Terpene Cyclases;
Quantum Mechanical and Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Enzyme Catalysed Reactions;
Effects of Protein Glycosylation on Protein Dynamics and Catalysts;
Understanding the Specificity of DNA-Protein Complexes;
Mechanisms of Protein Induced DNA Bending;
Synthetic and Enzymatic Approaches to a Cure for Manic Depression;

These Studentships will cover tuition fees and a maintenance grant and are available for candidates holding (or expecting to obtain) at least a 2.i honours degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline in Molecular Biosciences.
