Postdoc in neuroepigenetics (Germany)

The Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology, Department Molecular Embryology at the University of Freiburg, Germany is looking for a highly motivated Postdoc in the research group of Prof. Dr. Tanja Vogel. Our research focus lies on the role of epigenetic histone modifications in neurodevelopment and CNS disease (Büttner et al. PNAS 2010). Within this advertised project we will elucidate the role of histone modifications during development and function of the cerebral cortex. Using mouse models we will study histone modifications during neuronal differentiation.
The successful applicant will be involved in teaching of medical students in gross and microscopic anatomy in practical courses and lectures. Teaching has to be mainly conducted in German.
Starting date: 01.10.2015.

You are convincing through
•       a strong background in biochemistry, biology, molecular medicine, medicine or equivalent, as well as an outstanding PhD or MD,
•       documented experience in techniques of cell biology, protein biochemistry and molecular biology, in particular Next-generation-sequencing,
•       experience with bioinformatical analyses of large data sets,
•       very good communication skills in English,
•       enthusiasm for science, strong motivation and the ability to learn new techniques and to work synergistically in a team.

We are offering
•       to work on a high topical research project with different techniques in a collaborative setting of the CRC 992 "Medical Epigenetics".

Employment will be temporary on TVL ÖD E13 100%.
