Cannabinoid Signalling in Intestinal Neurones
School of Life Sciences
Applications are invited for a three-year PhD studentship, available from October 2004, to work on cannabinoid signalling in intestinal neurones. The aim is to characterise the cellular and subcellular mechanisms of cannabinoid modulation of enteric neuron excitability. The candidate will gain training in a range of techniques including in vitro pharmacology, cell culture, and patch clamp electrophysiology.
Applicants should expect to obtain a first or upper second-class honours degree in Pharmacology, Physiology or a related biological science. Applicants with an interest and aptitude for biophysical experimentation will have an advantage.
Note that the studentship is normally open to EU citizens only.
