A post-doctoral biochemist or biological chemist with experience in photosynthesis research with electron magnetic resonance spectroscopy is required to work on the mechanism of water oxidation by photosystem II in plants and cyanobacteria. The group offers a multidisciplinary environment using biochemistry, molecular biology and biophysical spectroscopy. The BBSRC funded project, directed by Prof. Mike Evans will use biochemical and spectroscopic techniques for which training will be given if necessary. The position is available for one year from 30th September 2004.

Salary is on the RA1A/RA1B scale, according to experience. Salary will be between £18,893.00 + £2,134.00 London Allowance and £20,311.00 + £2,134.00 London Allowance, according to experience. An upper second-class degree in biochemistry, chemistry or a biological science is the minimum qualification required.
