Applications are invited for a graduate research assistant to work on genetic studies on the mechanism of mitotic spindle orientation in the budding yeast S. cerevisiae. The project, which is funded by the Wellcome Trust, combines molecular genetics and live imaging microscopy methods to explore the control of spindle positioning through microtubule-cortex interactions. Applicants should have a degree in a biological discipline and experience in molecular biology techniques is desirable.

The position is available from 1 September 2004, until 31 January 2006 in the first instance, and may, subject to the availability of additional funding, be renewed for a further period or periods. Salary will be in the range £19,460 - £21,640 pa according to age and experience.
