The PhD position is focused on advancing our understanding of the development of intra-cohort size variation in fish populations in particular and in size-structured populations in general to increase our ability to predict recruitment variation in exploited populations like fish populations. The project will involve a combination of field studies, field and laboratory experiments and size-structured modeling. Aspects to be addressed are the origin of size variation and the development of size variation over ontogeny.
