1. General Information
The Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) offers a postgraduate training fellowship in the Differentiation and Cancer Program. Full time fellowships are not compatible with any other remuneration. Receiving a CRG Predoctoral Fellowship does not establish labour liability with the trainee. By accepting the fellowship, the trainee agrees to follow its rules and regulations.
2. Length and renewal
The fellowship is for four years.
3. Specific aim and stipend
The fellowship is offered to work on the project entitled: "Genetics and Epigentics of Leukemia". We are interested i) in understanding the precise links between DNA methylation and chromatin structure, and transcriptional silencing; and ii) in deciphering the molecular events underlying the abnormal methylation pattern during tumour progression (see Di Croce et al., Science, 275, 1079, 2002). The team is young and dynamic, and the research infrastructure is excellent.
The annual salary for this position will range between 11.000 and 12.500 Euro, commensurate with training and experience.
4. Candidate requirements
Candidates should have a University Degree in Biology, Biochemistry or Medicine with advanced knowledge in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetics and Biochemistry, and be at a good level in written and spoken English. Previous laboratory experience, and a good academic record ("expediente" higher than 2.9)
5. Application procedure
All applications must include:
· A presentation letter addressed to Dr. Luciano Di Croce indicating the project title · A curriculum vitae including a contact phone number and/or email address · A certified copy of the academic records · A certified copy of the degree (if available at the time of application) · Contact information for 1 person willing to write letters of reference
