Fisheries Technician

Shaw Environmental, Inc. seeks to fill an immediate opening for a flexible, part-time Fisheries Technician based out of its Andover, Massachusetts office, with field-work to be conducted in the metro-Boston area. There may be potential for this position to develop into full-time status in the future.
Responsibilities: Field data collection for a fish entrainment and impingement study at an electric utility cooling water intake structure, data summary and reporting, and coordination of sample shipping and processing with taxonomy laboratory.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates should be currently enrolled in, or recently completed requirements for a B.S. degree in fisheries, environmental, or natural resource-related field, and located within a reasonable commuting distance of Boston. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Some types of suitable experience include marine/estuarine adult and juvenile fish collection and identification, small boat experience, ichthyoplankton collection, and standard fisheries field sampling techniques.
