Beca posdoctoral

A postdoctoral position is currently available in the lab of Suzanne Alonzo (PI) at the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale University to study the mating system and reproductive behavior of North American freshwater fish. The successful candidate will use comparative, phylogeographic and genetic paternity analyses to examine among-population variation in the reproduction and life history of freshwater darters.
For this position, a Ph.D. in evolution, ecology or related field is required. Prior experience conducting fieldwork and using relevant laboratory techniques is required as well as general knowledge of behavioral and evolutionary ecology. The postdoctoral researcher will work independently and in collaboration with the PI to determine the precise questions to be addressed and empirical design of the study.
Theoretical work is possible but not required. This research will combine field collection, laboratory analyses and observations of fish behavior in the field and lab.
Review of applications begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Start date is flexible but the position is available immediately. The position is for one year and is renewable contingent on the availability of funding. Please submit curriculum vitae, brief statement of research interests, up to 3 relevant manuscripts and 3 professional references to Suzanne H. Alonzo by email
