Grad Students program

NSF has an excellent graduate student program called
EAPSI,
which pays for summer-long research projects in Asia and Australia.
Basically, you get a $5,000 stipend and a round-trip ticket to your host
laboratory. I have recently started a lat at the Okinawa Institute of
Science and Technology (in Japan), and would be
interested to host a graduate student willing to do a short experimental
evolution project. At OIST we have truly world-class research facilities,
particularly in genomics, and a beautiful sub-tropical setting. The deadline
for EAPSI is November 10th, which is pretty soon, but with a bit of work it
should be possible to write a project proposal in this time.
