The successful candidate will have a PhD in evolutionary biology or related topic
and a good track record of publishing in leading specialist or multidisciplinary journals. Strong statistical skills are essential. The post is fixed-term with a start date of 1st April 2011 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and an end date of 31st March 2013 with a possibility of an extension subject to funding. The work will be performed at the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences, University of Sheffield - one of the largest departments in the UK devoted to the study of whole organism biology. We are ranked joint 3rd in the UK for biology research and 70% of our research activity has been judged to be "world-leading" or internationally excellent
(RAE 2008). The position is funded by the European Research Council (ERC).Closing date: 14.3. 2011.
