A volunteer field assistant is needed for a census of a brazilian free
tailed bat colony located in a cave on a private ranch north of Johnson
City, TX. This position is available immediately as the census needs to be
conducted asap. The assistant is responsible for aiding in carrying and
setting up equipment, taking notes, etc. Further information is available
upon request. This is a great opportunity to gain some field experience,
learn about thermal infrared imaging, and observe an awesome bat emergence!
Qualifications include:
Ability to lift 50lbs
Ability to carry heavy equipment up a hill in Texas heat
An interest in ecology and/or bats
Must be 18 yrs or older
