Pre-PhD program scholarship in Biochemistry, Biophysics or Bioinformatics (Sweden)

The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics (DBB) at Stockholm University announces a one-year Pre-Ph.D. program for a limited number of top students with a wish to pursue a research carrier. DBB is home to some 20 leading research groups working on diverse, interrelated aspects in Biochemistry, Biophysics or Bioinformatics. Currently, more than 150 people from all over the world are active at the Department.

Only top students with a clear ambition to pursue a research career will be accepted. All students in the program will receive a tax-free scholarship of 9 000 SEK/month for 10 months.

We are in particular searching for bright students with cross-disciplinary research interests within biochemistry, biophysics and bioinformatics. The program includes two projects (rotations/theses) in two of the groups at the Department.  Here, you will have the opportunity to work directly with challenging research projects. Our intention is that most of the students who have completed the program with high grades will be able to successfully compete for a position in  the PhD programs at our Department.

Requirements: 180 ECTS (equivalent to a bachelor degree) at the basic level plus 30 ECTS (Biochemistry) or 15 ECTS (Biophysics or Bioinformatics) at the advanced level.

More information about the program and the application process is available either at www.dbb.su.se or by contacting the coordinator Dr. Martin Ott (prePhD@dbb.su.se).

Deadline for applications is May 11, 2014.
