PhD position microbial ecology (Germany)

The analyses of the microbiota will be based on metagenomics and metatranscriptomics using Next Generation Sequencing. The overall aim is to describe the biodiversity in the digestive tract, to understand the role of key organisms for general functions of the digestion processes and to identify microbial community shifts depending on nutrition of the host.
We seek a highly motivated creative person with interests in bioinformatics, microbiology and animal nutrition. Candidates should have a Diploma or MSc certification in the area of microbiology or agricultural biology/science.
The place of work is at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Salary will be according to the appropriate civil service level EG 13 TV-L, 0.5. Funding is available for 36 months.
