Integrated Animal Physiologist

The Department of Biological Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans seeks highly qualified applicants for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in the general area of integrated animal physiology beginning Fall 2018. Particularly desirable is a broadly-trained individual applying cutting-edge methods in cell imaging, genomics, proteomics, or transcriptomics to address novel research questions in collaboration with undergraduate students. The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant discipline, significant post-doctoral research experience, and a strong commitment to engaging undergraduates through high impact pedagogical approaches. The candidate is expected to develop an externally funded research program involving undergraduate students in the newly renovated Monroe Hall. Major courses to be taught include introductory Bioinquiry, Cells & Heredity, and Biology of Organisms, and upper level electives in A&P, Physiology, and Cell Biology. The successful applicant will also play a key role in teaching non-major lecture courses in our Loyola Core and will have opportunities to develop new courses aligned with his/her research expertise.
