Postdoc position in cancer biology (Germany)

A position for a postdoctoral scientist is available in the group of Prof. Stefan Gaubatz at the Biocenter, University of Wuerzburg/ Germany. Research in our group is focused on the function and dynamics of protein complexes that regulate gene expression during the cell cycle. The goal of the project is to investigate the role of the Myb-MuvB (MMB) complex in normal development and in disease. MuvB is the core of an evolutionary conserved multiprotein complex that activates gene whose products are involved in mitosis and cytokinesis. Target genes of MMB are often overexpressed in cancer and their enhanced expression correlates with a poor prognosis.
The function of MMB will be studied with a combination of cell culture based experiments, molecular biology techniques and in vivo studies. State-of-the-art technologies including Chromatin-immunoprecipitations followed by next generation sequencing (ChIP-Seq), RNA-Seq and CRISPR will be used.

The candidate is expected to have considerable expertise in molecular biology and/or biochemistry. Prior experience in molecular tumor biology or mouse genetics will be advantageous.
