Postdoctoral Fellows (m/f/d) Epigenetics and Stem Cell Differentiation

Postdoctoral positions (m/f/d) are available at the „Institute of Genetics of Eukaryotes“ within the research group of Dr. Joern Lausen at the University of Stuttgart.

The position is funded for an initial period of 3 years with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to take part in teaching, applications for research funding and to develop own research initiatives.

Background
My lab is interested in the genetic programs, which drive normal differentiation of hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells. We study cell type specific transcription factors and their influence on epigenetically determined gene expression programs. We want to know how normal differentiation is regulated and which mechanisms lead to diseases. Furthermore, we use our knowledge about molecular gene regulatory mechanisms to uncover molecular targets for cancer therapies and develop tools for regenerative medicine.

Personal qualifications
Successful candidates should have a PhD or equivalent degree in life sciences or medicine. They should have experience in modern cell culture and molecular biology methods. Experience in animal handling is a plus. A keen interest in cutting-edge science, good communication skills and the ability to work in cooperation and in a team is mandatory.
