20 contratos para hacer la tesis en un prestigioso programa multidisciplinar

International Max Planck Research School for Cell, Developmental, and Systems Biology
A CHALLENGING PHD PROGRAM FOR FUTURE SCIENTISTS

A 4-year PhD Program involving 3 renowned international institutes: the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, the Center for Systems Biology Dresden, and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems. Degrees are awarded by the Technische Universität Dresden, one of Germany’s Excellence Universities.

We are looking for innovative and independent minds to fill 20 fully-funded PhD positions. With pioneering scientific research, our demanding PhD program is tailored for those who aim high, are willing to take risks, and enjoy a rapid pace. We follow an integrative approach merging biology, physics, chemistry, and computer science to research questions concerning living systems, particularly: How do cells form tissues and organisms? The answer is explored by creatively combining experimental and theoretical approaches, spanning scales from molecules to organisms, and continuously developing new angles and approaches. In our program, creativity and collaboration count.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Excitement: Our researchers conduct research with enthusiasm and cutting-edge resources at their fingertips. We believe that open doors and a community spirit are key to vital collaboration. Our support structure caters individual needs, offering the latest technologies, with approachable experts always at hand.

Mentoring: Dedicated scientists help you to navigate toward independence and success as shown in our track record.

Community: Our PhD students become part of a supportive and friendly community, within our institute and in the broader global network. Beyond our scientific common ground, we also value fun recreational activities, building relationships and forming life-long connections.

Financial security: PhD students receive a paid contract as well as health insurance and other benefits, with no tuition costs and low cost of living. The approximate net income per month is EUR 1,450.

HOW TO APPLY

We look for applicants with high potential and passion for science. A University degree with an excellent academic track record in life science, physics, chemistry, computer science, or engineering is required. We value diversity and welcome students of all nationalities.
