Contrato postdoctoral estadístico para estudiar el efecto de pesticidas en la biodiversidad (Francia)

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to study the relationship between biodiversity and pesticide use, using a combination of databases from participatory monitoring of biodiversity and sale of pesticides in France, while controlling for possible confounding factors.

Main activities
– Management of large databases (birds, bats, insects and plants for biodiversity; pesticides, climate, soil, landscape, agricultural practices for environmental variables)
– Statistical analyzes including linear (mixed) models, frequentist and Bayesian frameworks
– Support for the coordination of the network of researchers involved in the project (e.g. organization of meetings)
– Writing of reports and scientific articles

Skills and knowledge required
– Excellent control of population and community ecology
– Proficiency in statistical tools for the analysis of biodiversity data (linear (mixed) models, frequentist and Bayesian frameworks)
– Skills in geographic information systems
– Knowledge of agricultural ecosystems and / or one or more taxonomic groups and / or modes of action of pesticides would be a plus
– Good writing skills in both French and English
– Good interpersonal skills

Schedules and working conditions
– 35h/week
– workplace: UMR 7204 center for ecology and conservation sciences – 43 rue Buffon – Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle 75005 paris
– Preferred starting date: 01/11/2020
– Contract or level of employment: 16 months, with possible extension depending on fund availability; gross annual salary: between €31,271.88 and €43,381.32 depending on past experience
