Otra oferta divertida de divulgación científica (salud) en remoto

Inverse is seeking a Health Science Reporter. This editorial role is central in our mission to explore the latest science around nutrition, health, exercise, and whole-body improvement.

Inverse’s target audience are young men who want to know about the latest science and innovation to help them live healthier lives. Part of our mission is to redefine what men’s health coverage looks like, and this role is a principal driver toward that.

The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned reporter who is equally comfortable explaining a scientific study for a mainstream audience, as they are spotting the cognitive science of a TikTok trend, the physical strategy in an NFL game, or the psychology of a political moment.

This person sees wonder (and a good story) where others might not and contributes to our unifying goal of making Inverse a fascinating place where people want to spend a little time.

We are looking for a creative individual with sharp critical thinking skills and an enterprising attitude. A person who is always thinking about a new Mind & Body series — our lineup includes Seared, Longevity Hacks, Not Sports, Leg Day Observer, Strategy, and Sunday Scaries — will fit in well in our newsroom culture.

Some of the topics the reporter will cover include, but are not limited to, Inverse’s view on food, fitness, dieting, drugs, aging, behavior, mental health, sex, and death.

Are you equally excited about the chance to report on aphrodisiac mushrooms, the mysteries of the brain, or the “keto flu”? Remember that whole situation with young blood transfusions? Can you explain the science behind supplements, or the latest Covid-19 news? If yes, then we want to hear from you.

While Inverse’s office is based in New York City, this position can be remote.

To apply, please send a resume, a cover letter, and three brief pitches: one for an evergreen, search-friendly explainer, another for a more ambitious, reported enterprise story, and finally, a pitch for a recurring franchise.
