Salary:

Research Assistant Intern - 35 hours per week, £17,290 (12 months)

Outreach Assistant Intern - 28 hours per week, £8,068 (7 months)

Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund through the Climate Action Fund, the Stand for Nature Wales project is a youth climate change project with a big ambition! The six Wildlife Trusts in Wales have come together to tackle climate change with the help of the young people of Wales. Our teams are working to empower and inspire young people to take action for nature and wildlife in their local area in a bid to tackle climate change.  The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales’ Living Seas team based at the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre in New Quay are working with young people to protect our seas, take climate action and to inspire others in the local community to make a difference.

As part of the Stand for Nature Wales project, we are very excited to announce that the we are offering two paid internships for young people, beginning on the 4th April 2022. The roles advertised will enable you to work alongside the Living Seas staff and volunteer team at the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre, New Quay to enhance and develop your skills and knowledge in marine conservation. The positions available for application include:
Full time (35 hrs p/w) - Living Seas Research Assistant (12 months) – working to undertake a variety of marine conservation activities with a particular focus on our research, collecting valuable evidence to help protect our seas and marine wildlife to help tackle the effects of climate change within our marine environment.
Part time 0.8 FTE (28 hrs p/w) - Living Seas Outreach Assistant (7 months) - working to promote conservation and protection of the oceans and inspiring others to make a difference through public engagement and outreach activity.
