 We are seeking a researcher in the field of vegetation ecology/botany to join our growing team of scientists and practitioners. This is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a dynamic team engaged in biodiversity informatics, research, and conservation.

The main responsibility will be to plan, conduct and direct surveying on vegetation and support research. The successful candidate will participate in previously funded research projects conduct field work, support modelling and dissemination of research findings via peer-reviewed publications, reports and presentations.


Qualifications


  • Degree (MSc or PhD) with major in vegetation ecology, botany or equivalent
  • Knowledge of native and non-native plant species
  • Experience in vegetation surveying and motivation for field work
  • Good statistical skills in R programming language
  • Good skills in ArcGIS or QGIS
  • Driving license


Salary and additional information



Located close to Schönbrunn Palace in the city of Vienna, our scientists and staff are committed to creating a workplace culture that respects diversity and values the well-being of all employees. This is a 40 hour, 2-years term position beginning as soon as possible. The gross monthly salary is at least EUR 2,907.20 based on salary scale for federal employees in evaluation group v1/1.
