The European Vulture Conference 2023, organised by the Vulture Conservation Foundation, will be held in Cáceres, Spain, from 14 to 17 November 2023. This conference allows vulture conservationists and researchers to share their work on vulture biology, ecology, and conservation on a global scale.


We are thrilled to announce that the European Vulture Conference is coming back in 2023, and will take place in one of the best vulture areas in Spain and Europe – join us in Cáceres, Spain, from 14 to 17 November 2023!

The European Vulture Conference 2023 is the ultimate event for vulture conservationists, researchers, and enthusiasts, providing a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with your peers, hear from leading experts, and gain insights into the latest advancements in vulture conservation and research across Europe and beyond. With a comprehensive programme of presentations, workshops, and poster sessions, you will receive valuable insights that will help you take your vulture research and conservation efforts to the next level. In addition to the scientific programme, the conference will offer the chance to explore the vulture-rich region of Extremadura through cultural visits, a conference dinner, and unforgettable field trips.

Abstract submission

We invite all vulture conservation scientists and researchers to submit abstracts for the unique opportunity to share projects and research in the field of vulture biology, ecology, and conservation worldwide at a global stage.

We value diverse abstract submissions that extend beyond traditional scientific papers, including applied research and project reporting.

The conference welcomes a wide range of vulture-related topics, including applied conservation and management practices such as case studies, population monitoring methods, reintroduction programme evaluations, environmental impact assessments, feeding station management guidelines, and more. Abstracts based on implemented projects and initiatives are encouraged, regardless of publication status.

Registration

To secure your place for the conference, simply visit the registration webpage and follow the registration process. Registration includes access to all conference sessions, coffee breaks and lunches, conference dinner, and the cultural visit and field trip. The early bird ticket is priced at 150 euros, with regular tickets costing 180 euros after 31 July. We also have discounted tickets priced at 100 euros for early bird tickets, and 130 thereafter, for students, people from the United Nations’ list of Least Developed Countries and VCF’s current LIFE project and IBM partners.
