Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Bioacoustic Physiology

Main Description: The Department of Biology at Aarhus University, Denmark, invites applications for a tenure track full time position as assistant professor in the field of Sensory Physiology of Sound. We seek a highly motivated researcher to complement and expand our research and teaching activities within the field of bioacoustic physiology to study how animals - from insects to whales - sense with sound. We particularly welcome applicants who study how animals produce, use and hear sound to navigate complex sensory scenes and interact with their environment, and how these processes are affected by natural and anthropogenic noise.
You will be affiliated with the Section of Zoophysiology at the Department, with research strengths in sensory physiology, cardio-respiratory and metabolic physiology, and thermal physiology. As a researcher at the Department of Biology, you will be part of a vibrant, collaborative and international research environment, with access to advanced instruments and core facilities, including animal husbandry, acoustic calibration facilities and an an-echoic research laboratorium.
Requirements:
- PhD degree in a relevant field
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research at the highest international level
- Proven ability to be successful in attracting external funding
- Expected to communicate and teach in Danish within four years of joining (acquisition of sufficient Danish skills is a condition for permanent employment)
