Internship supporting Arctic and sub-Arctic freshwater fish research in Alaska. The position focuses on sample preparation, data collection, and analysis of fisheries and ecological data. Tasks include:
- Organizing datasets
- Fish sample preparation
- Statistical analyses using R
- Spatial analyses and mapping
- Field collection
- Literature reviews
Requirements:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in fisheries, ecology, environmental science or related field
- Experience or coursework in data analysis using R and Excel, or interest to learn
- Familiarity with ecological or biological datasets
- Basic experience or familiarity with GIS or spatial data analysis
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in working on Alaska rivers
