Internship supporting Arctic and sub-Arctic freshwater fish research in Alaska. The position focuses on sample preparation, data collection, and analysis of fisheries and ecological data. Tasks include:
  • Organizing datasets
  • Fish sample preparation
  • Statistical analyses using R
  • Spatial analyses and mapping
  • Field collection
  • Literature reviews

Requirements:
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in fisheries, ecology, environmental science or related field
  • Experience or coursework in data analysis using R and Excel, or interest to learn
  • Familiarity with ecological or biological datasets
  • Basic experience or familiarity with GIS or spatial data analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in working on Alaska rivers
