Internship in Sustainable European Seaweed Sector Development

Contract Type: Internship, 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week), Start ASAP
Main Description: The European Seaweed Association (ESWA) is the representative body for the European seaweed industry. ESWA 1) represents the sector, 2) supports its member network and 3) promotes the seaweed sector on behalf of more than 130 member organisations from across Europe.
As an intern at ESWA, you will immerse yourself in the world of seaweed and actively contribute to a variety of projects and activities in the seaweed sector, depending on your interests and background. Examples of your work may include:
- Supporting innovative seaweed farming projects
- Helping to organise events, knowledge workshops and campaigns
- Contributing to further development of the roadmap for the sector
You will work together with stakeholders across the seaweed value chain and with the ESWA team. ESWA manages the largest Offshore Test Site in Europe (twelve kilometres off the coast of Scheveningen) and operates NSF#1, the first seaweed farm in an offshore wind farm.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master student at a university or university of applied sciences
- Passion for sustainability and innovation
- Relevant study background and profile
- Proactive, hands-on attitude and ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English
- Social and confident in approaching people
- Available full-time for six months, with at least two days per week at the office in The Hague
