Main Description:
A 4-year PhD position is available to simulate the evolution of complex phenotypes (3D morphologies) under natural selection, integrating mathematical models of developmental gene networks. The candidate will plan and execute simulations to address fundamental questions in evolutionary theory and analyse the results.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or related fields with a minimum of 300 ECTS in the European system
- Master's degree in Biology or related field
- Strong interest and motivation for science and evolution
- Creative and critical thinking
- Scientific programming skills or willingness to acquire them
- Communication skills and capacity for introspective reasoning
- Fully funded position for 4 years
- Excellent research infrastructure
- Collaborative and cooperative working environment
- Opportunity to integrate into established international research networks
- Located in a highly international department where knowledge of Catalan or Spanish is not required
