Main Description:
This full-time position focuses on studying pre-human vertebrate faunas of the Galápagos Islands to inform species restoration efforts. The role involves paleobiology fieldwork, collections building, and contributing scientific knowledge to guide conservation and restoration of native vertebrate species. The position is a collaboration between the Charles Darwin Foundation and the California Academy of Sciences.
Requirements:
- PhD or Master's degree in paleobiology, geology, evolutionary biology, or a related field
- 2+ years of vertebrate paleobiology experience (PhD holders) or 5+ years (Master's holders)
- Fluency in both Spanish and English
- Publication record in relevant fields
- Experience with remote fieldwork
- Annual salary determined by qualifications
